Websites for Architects and Architecture Firms
High-resolution photo portfolio, project pages that tell a story, 95+ PageSpeed performance. Your website isn’t a brochure: it’s the first project your client sees.
Why an Architecture Firm Needs a Real Website
Clients Choose with Their Eyes
Architecture is visual. A full-page site photo, an opening render, a fluid gallery say in 5 seconds what 10 paragraphs of text can’t. A website built for high-resolution images is a firm’s real business card.
Quality Clients Search on Google
Someone looking for an architect for a villa, a loft or a major renovation doesn’t scroll Instagram at random: they type “architect + city + project type” into Google. An SEO-optimized site, with local landing pages and keyword-rich project pages, captures exactly that kind of high-end client.
Awards, Publications, Awwwards
A well-made firm website can be submitted to industry awards (Awwwards, CSS Design Awards, FWA). It’s not vanity: it’s marketing that gets you into international magazines, attracts foreign clients and sets you apart from the thousands of firms with a generic, off-the-shelf WordPress site.
What You Get in Your Firm’s Website
Curated Project Pages
Every project gets a dedicated page: photos in narrative sequence, floor plans, renders, text that tells the concept and the process. Filters by type (residential, retail, exhibitions, renovations), by year, by status (completed, in progress). Handy for students and curators too.
High-Resolution Galleries
Smart lazy loading, WebP/AVIF format served automatically, images optimized with no visible loss of quality. The photographer’s shots stay center stage, but the site loads fast even on 4G. An elegant lightbox for full-screen viewing, with swipe on mobile.
Press & Publications Section
Magazine logos, links to articles, scanned covers, awards won with year and category. A well-kept “press” section raises the firm’s perceived value and reassures clients about its professional solidity. You update it yourself, no need to call me.
Studio & People Page
Who you are, where you come from, who your collaborators are, what your design philosophy is. Studio photos, training paths, languages spoken. A well-written “about us” page is the one clients read before calling you: it turns a curious visitor into a site-visit request.
How We Work Together
Briefing & Project Selection
An initial call to understand positioning, target clientele and any existing visual identity. Together we pick the 6-12 most representative projects: it’s not quantity that counts, it’s the quality of the curation. We define tone of voice, palette, typography.
Design & Development
A static mockup of the main screens for sign-off, then custom development. No €49 WordPress templates: code written from scratch, optimized for architecture imagery. Tested with your real full-size files, not lorem ipsum and stock photos.
Launch & SEO
High-performance hosting, domain configured, SSL certificate, GDPR compliant. Google Search Console setup, sitemap, schema.org. I hand you a 10-minute mini video guide to update projects and press yourself. No lock-in: the site is yours, code included.
FAQ
How much does a website for an architecture firm cost?
It depends on complexity: from around €1,500 for a showcase site with 10-15 project pages, up to €4,000-6,000 for a structured firm site with press, in-depth blog, client portal and bilingual version. Free quote after a 30-minute call, where we look at your projects together and figure out what you really need.
Can I update the projects myself?
Yes. I build the admin area for architects, not for programmers: you upload the photos, write the text, publish. The page lays itself out while keeping the design consistent. For the first 3 months I answer questions on WhatsApp for free, so you learn without stress. For photographers and designers used to digital tools, it’s trivial.
Will the site be bilingual Italian/English?
On request, yes. A bilingual version is almost mandatory for firms working with foreign clients or looking to attract them (lofts in Milano, seaside villas, prestige residences). I add the language switch, translate the static sections and give you a ready-to-fill Excel sheet for the project pages in both languages.
What happens to my existing website?
I analyze it before the call. Often the domain can be kept (crucial for the SEO built up over the years), the strongest content re-imported, and we start over with a new design. Sometimes the old site is best archived: a well-done 301 redirect preserves almost all the accumulated SEO value. Nothing valuable gets lost.
How long until it’s online?
4 to 8 weeks, depending on how quickly you send me the materials (high-res photos, floor plans, project page copy). The main slowdown almost always comes from there, not from development. If your materials are ready and curated, we can wrap up in 4 full weeks, with the site online by the end of the month after signing.
Is the site optimized for search engines?
Yes. Semantic HTML5 code, schema.org Service and LocalBusiness, XML sitemap, curated meta tags on every page, descriptive alt text on project images. I work with Trinity, the team’s SEO copywriter, to write copy that works for Google without betraying the cultured, design-driven tone typical of architecture firms. No keywords thrown in at random: real writing.
