Why Without a Technical SEO Audit Your Content Strategy Isn’t Enough

Google Doesn’t See What It Can’t Crawl

You can have the best articles in your industry, but if your robots.txt mistakenly blocks important pages, if the site is slow to render, if internal links don’t guide the bot where it needs to go, then Googlebot won’t index what you want it to. A technical audit exposes these blocks before they turn into a flat loss of traffic.

Core Web Vitals = Real Rankings

Since Google folded Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) into its ranking, technically slow sites lose positions even with excellent content. An audit measures the real slow spots on your site, isolates the bottlenecks (heavy images, render-blocking JavaScript, remote fonts) and gives you a list of fixes ordered by impact.

Technical Errors = Money Lost Every Day

Indexed 404 pages, redirect chains, duplicate URL parameters, wrong hreflang, broken schema.org: every technical error is a small line item of cost. On an e-commerce site or a high-traffic blog, the loss can be thousands of euros a month in missed conversions. The audit lists everything, ordered by severity.

What the Technical SEO Audit Covers

Crawling & Indexing

Full crawl with Screaming Frog: status codes (200, 301, 404, 500), robots.txt, XML sitemap, canonicals, meta robots, URL parameters, pagination, click depth. Direct check in Google Search Console of indexed pages vs. discovered-but-not-indexed, with the specific cause for each.

Core Web Vitals & Performance

LCP, INP and CLS measured on a sample of representative pages (home, category, product, article, contact). Resource waterfall analysis, image weight, render-blocking JavaScript, external fonts, third parties. A prioritized list of fixes with the estimated impact on your PageSpeed score.

Semantic Markup & Schema.org

Check of the HTML5 structure, H1-H6 heading hierarchy, image alt text, schema.org in place (Article, Product, LocalBusiness, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, Review). Direct test in Google’s Rich Results Test. I identify the missing schemas that could trigger rich snippets and earn you CTR as early as tomorrow.

Practical Report with Priorities

A 20-40 page PDF with an executive summary (for you), a detailed technical section (for your developer), and a checklist of fixes ordered by impact/effort. Every issue includes screenshots, the specific URLs involved, and a proposed solution with sample code where needed. No fluff: only things that can actually be done.

How We Work Together

1

Kickoff & Access

An initial 30-minute call to understand your goals (more organic traffic, recovering lost rankings, preparing a migration, supporting a new launch). You give me read access to Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4. If you have Ahrefs or Semrush, those too. We define the scope: the whole site or specific areas only.

2

Crawl & Analysis

4-5 days of actual work: crawling with Screaming Frog, Core Web Vitals checks on PageSpeed Insights and CrUX, schema.org verification, server log review where available (to see how Googlebot really crawls the site), comparison with your direct competitors. Everything cross-referenced to produce the priority ranking.

3

Report & Debrief Call

Full PDF delivered within 7 days of kickoff. A 60-minute debrief call to go over priorities together, work out what you can do yourself, what to hand to your developer, what needs outsourcing. 30 days of email support for questions on the report. Optional: I can apply the fixes myself, on a separate quote.

FAQ

How much does a technical SEO audit cost?

It depends on the size of the site: from €600 for a showcase site under 50 pages, up to €2,500-3,500 for an e-commerce site with thousands of products or a publisher with a large article archive. Free quote after a 30-minute call, where we look at the site, the traffic volume and your real goals together.

How fast do you deliver the report?

7 business days from kickoff and receipt of access. If it’s urgent (for example before an already scheduled domain migration), I can do a fast-track audit in 3-4 days at a 30% surcharge. For very large audits (e-commerce with 50,000+ URLs) the timeline rises to 12-15 days because deeper sampling is needed.

Do you implement the fixes or just hand me the report?

By default I deliver only the report, with clear instructions for your developer. If you’d rather I apply the technical fixes myself (schema.org corrections, image optimization, redirects, sitemap, robots file, Search Console setup), I prepare a separate quote based on actual hours. This second phase often costs half the audit, because the bulk of the work is already done.

What do you need from me to get started?

Three things: read access to the domain’s Google Search Console, read access to Google Analytics 4 (to cross-reference the pages that matter to the business), and the names of 2-3 direct competitors you want to monitor. If you have an active Ahrefs or Semrush subscription, read access there too. Everything else I collect myself.

Does the audit also cover content and keywords?

No, it’s a purely technical audit. Keyword research, content strategy and on-page copy optimization are Trinity’s domain, the team’s SEO copywriter. I can, however, flag in the report the weak pages to review on the content side and put together a combined technical + editorial package with Trinity, if you need a more complete intervention.

Does it work for WordPress, Shopify and custom sites too?

Yes, I work on any platform. WordPress (including WooCommerce, WP Rocket, Yoast, Rank Math), Shopify, PrestaShop, Magento, Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, custom sites in PHP, Laravel, Next.js, Astro. Every platform has well-known typical problem patterns, so the analysis starts with a head start. The proposed fixes always suit your stack.

Stop Guessing. Measure.

Send me the domain of the site to analyze and a short description of your goals and the problems you feel you have. I’ll reply within 24 hours with free initial feedback on what might be worth digging into.
