    Frequently asked questions

How are the minutes I have left calculated?

The tool starts from your date of birth and uses Italy's average life expectancy from ISTAT 2023: about 84.8 years for women and 80.5 for men. It's a statistical average, not a prediction about you: it's there to give perspective, not to scare you.

Where do the heartbeats, breaths and nights of sleep come from?

They're estimates based on average values: 72 heartbeats and 16 breaths per minute, 8 hours of sleep a day, multiplied by the time you've lived. The suggestions on what you could still do, like one book every two weeks, are rough calculations too.

How do I share my counter?

Hit Share: the tool generates an image ready for WhatsApp or Instagram with a text to go with it. On your phone the system share sheet opens; otherwise the image is downloaded and the text copied. With Save image you download it directly.

    Is my data saved?

No. Your date of birth and biological sex are used only for the calculation, which happens in your browser: they are neither sent to any server nor saved. The counter is free, requires no sign-up and works on smartphones too.
